For the 13th consecutive year, the Davey O'Brien Fan Vote is an integral component of the Davey O'Brien National Quarterback Award. In 2019, fans are invited to vote for their favorite quarterback once daily per email address at VoteOBrien.org.
 
The Fan Vote counts as 5% of the process during each round of voting by combining with the results from the Davey O'Brien National Selection Committee. Fans are invited to cast their vote for the nation's best quarterback throughout the entire process, as the Fan Vote totals are cleared after each voting round.

Members of the Selection Committee, which consists of former winners as well as media members throughout the country, are asked to vote for a NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) quarterback who embodies the attributes of football legend Davey O'Brien. As such, they are asked to evaluate each candidate on the criteria of his quarterback skills and athletic ability, academics, character, reputation as a team player, leadership and sportsmanship.

2019 Calendar

First Round
Beginning Tuesday, Sept. 10, fans may vote once daily per registered email address for any of the FBS starting quarterbacks until the voting closes at noon CT on Sunday, Nov. 12. The Fan Vote results will be combined with the votes from the Selection Committee to identify the 16 semifinalists.
 
Semifinalists
The 16 semifinalists will be announced Wednesday, Nov. 13. Beginning that day, fans will be able to vote once daily until the voting closes at noon CT on Sunday, Nov. 24. The Fan Vote results will be combined with the votes from the Selection Committee to identify the three finalists.
 
Finalists
The three finalists will be announced on Monday, Nov. 25. Beginning that day, fans will be able to vote once daily until the voting closes at noon CT on Sunday, Dec. 8. The results will be combined with the votes from the Selection Committee to identify the winner.
 
Winner
The 2019 Davey O'Brien winner will be announced on The Home Depot College Football Awards on ESPN on Thursday, Dec. 12. He will be honored at the 43rd Annual Davey O'Brien Awards Dinner in Fort Worth, Texas, On Feb. 17, 2020.
